We're back from San Francisco (San Pancho), Mexico! It was a very relaxing trip. The location was perfect: it was far enough off the beaten path from the hubub of tourism but easy to get to at the same time.
The house itself was quite nice, right on the beach with its own pool. It was recently built and there was a lot of thought put into the design with an open air kitchen and upstairs bedroom, and a closed 1st floor bedroom with air-conditioning. The pic above was the view from the kitchen.
We basically hung out, swam, ate, swam and read for the majority of the time. The beach was great but the ocean waves tended to be rough, definitely too rough for Milo. But a nearby town, Sayulita, had much more mellow (surfer friendly) beaches which we also took advantage of.
Getting there was very easy. Just a 3 and a half hour flight from SFO to Puerto Vallarto, MX and then about an hour drive north. Puerto Vallarta had its own Walmart so you can imagine what that town was like. But where we were was much more rustic, in fact, you had to drive to PV just to find an ATM or post office! The weather was hot and humid and it rained about a a quarter of the time but it didn't really matter.
Milo had another ear infection but we were able to see a doctor and get a prescription filled quite easily. He really loved the house and the pool and the people who took care of the house, Pilar and Monico. He even picked up some spanish while we were there. He didn't sleep all that well but I think the experience was good for him and definitely relaxing for all of us.Comments:Add a comment:

We spent July 4th week in Irvine, California at my parents new house/home. It was a Chung reunion since my brother, Mike, and his wife, Viviane, and newborn son, Adrien, are in the USA before returning to Kenya in August.
The weather was warm and pleasant. The development community was very nice with it's own pools and playgrounds all over the place. Milo LOVED his new cousin, Adrien, and was slightly obsessed with him all week.
It was great to have the Chungs altogether again. Paul and Catharine are expecting in October and they just found out that they're having a boy! Three Chung grandsons, Harabogee is psyched.
We're about to embark on a 2 week vacation in San Francisco, Mexico - a small town near Puerto Vallarta. Kind of an immersion experience. It's a very hot time to be vacationing in Mexico but the house we're renting has its own pool and is close to the beach. Should be fun. Although the house has an internet connection I will not be packing the laptop. What will I do with my day?? ;)Comments:Add a comment:
