In the afternoon of a new moon, Milo and Merritt are looking for the moon in the sky.

Merritt: "The moon isn't in the sky, Milo. Where do you think it is?"

    Milo: "Home."

Milo is very upset and cranky as Merritt is getting dinner ready. She tells him to be patient and he goes back to the living room, crying, where music is playing. The song being played is "Don't Worry About a Thing" by Bob Marley. The song calms Milo downs as he listens to the lyrics. Eventually he even starts to sing along.

We're all at the dinner table eating. Milo looks at his bib then looks at me.

    Milo: "Dada needs a bib."

    *

Later, I burp during the meal. There is a pause as Milo looks at me.

    Milo: "Dada, 'scuse."
Fred: "Oh, that's right, Milo. Daddy burped. Excuse me."
    Milo: "'Scuse me."

Every single night when I hold/hug/kiss Milo before he goes to sleep...

    Milo: "Sing ABCDEFG, Daddy."
Fred: "Let's see. What song shall I sing you, tonight, Milo?"
    Milo: "ABCDEFG."
Fred: "How about Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?"
    Milo: "ABCDEFG."
Fred: "Or maybe Itsy Bitsy Spider?"
    Milo: "ABCDEFG."
Fred: "Oh, I know! How about ABCDEFG?"
    Milo: [quietly waits.]

I sing him the ABCDEFG song ending with "Yay, Milo. I love you."

Lot of catching up to do:

    MILO'S BIRTHDAY
Baba and Marty came and stayed with us for Milo's bday weekend. Halmuni was in Seattle with my oldest brother Michael who was expecting their first born's birth at that time (more on that later.)

Milo's birthday party was great. The first half was attended by all the non-parent friends and the second half was when all the kids and their parents showed up. Milo felt a little overwhelmed until the children showed up. Merritt made a Train Cake which was a huge hit. He got a lot of train-themed toys in addition to a Betta fish which was at first named Tuna but then it became Noona.

    WASHINGTON DC
Then we went to Washington DC for Memorial Day Weekend to attend a friend's wedding. The whole trip went very well. It helped that we flew out and stayed at the same hotel as Mary, Charlie and Nicholas and flew back with Ruth and Helena. Milo did pretty well on both flights and there was only one night that he had a hard time sleeping, mainly because we kept him up WAY past his beddtime (rehearsal dinner night).

Milo was a big hit at all the parties. He's very friendly and outgoing and open to slapping high fives and blowing kisses to people he's just met. He was completely mesmerized by the band at the reception. We all had a great time and enjoyed ourselves. We saw a major shift in Milo's growth, being able to play by himself and interact with others without our presence.

    YO ADRIEN!
Milo has a brand new cousin! On May 31st, 2005, Adrien Kyungho Chung was born, the first son of a first son of a first son. Everyone is happy and doing well. We can't wait to meet him come this July 4th holiday at my parents new home in Irvine, CA.
