February 2005

  • Wed, Feb 23, 2005 2:57 PM

When we mention Marty or when Milo talks to her on the phone he always says, "Beach." Probably referring to us going to the beach at her Florida home. That was 4 months ago and I don't know how he could remember that.

Then again, we recently visited Peter and Christina who just had their baby son on February 18, Nicolas William John Laub! And when we entered their house he immediately said, "Choo choo" referring to the train set which had been on their mantle the last time we had last visited them... 3 months ago!

In the morning Milo tries to climb up on the big person chair at the kitchen table. Momma helps him up. He situates himself, puts his hands on the table at eye level and says with determination, "Cereal."

    *

Momma eats the piece of bread Milo had left on the couch. When Milo comes back to the living room, he notices Momma eating his bread. Mama gets him another piece, which he then places on the couch again. Before he leaves the room, he eyes the piece of bread, then Momma, then the bread, then Momma.

    *

Momma: "That's a papaya, Milo. Do you like it?"
    Milo: "Papapaya."

    *

    Milo: "Papapaya. Bababaya. Halmuni." [laughs]

    *

When Dadda is at work and Momma and Milo are at home Milo says, "Miss. Dadda."

    *

    "Miss. Dada"
    "Miss. Baba. Halmuni."
    "Miss. Gaga."

    *

Mama, "Tomorrow is the beginning of the weekend. Do you know what happens on the weekend?"
    Milo, "Dadda. Home."

    *

    Nicholas's birthday party today.
    "Whose birthday is it, Milo?"
    "Nitniss."

    *

The counting game: I ask Milo to count and he says, "Wun, Too, Shee."
    I say, "One, Two, Three..."
    Milo says, "Shore."
I say, "One, Two, Three, Four..."
    Milo says, "Shive."
I continue counting up to the number he just said and he continues to say the next number all the way up to ten. When he's on the swings he can count each swing up to ten.

    *

Milo goes to gym class on Wednesday mornings. His friend Jacob is there. Milo says, "Jaybob."

    *

Milo also has music class on Thursdays. All the teachers love Milo.
