milo has had a stuffy nose for the past 4 weeks, catching one cold after another after another. he gets into these coughing fits which in the middle of the night can lead to vomiting.

the past two days he skipped his nap. just now while i was on the computer he asked to watch some train footage i had downloaded for him. i lifted him up onto my lap and ran the video while i continued to work. he soon rested his head on my shoulder. i then heard heavy breathing. he has fallen asleep on me.

this has not happened since he was a newborn and even then not so easily. it's also why i am typing with one hand and thus no capitals. i guess i could put him down somewhere but i don't want to.

okay i just propped him over my shoulder so i can type with two hands. he's still out. must be pretty tired.

milo likes to boss people around (surprise, surprise). and when he doesn't get his way the often throws a fit after which he resigns and merrily goes along. most of the time.

merritt read him a story about a big brother racoon who was complaining about his little brother, but in the end learns to love and appreciate him. after the story merritt asked milo who the big brother was in our family and he confidently replied, "daddy."

he has a pretty scary good memory.

he loved christmas and got a lot of great stuff from all his relatives (thank you all very much!)

Milo is really into generating his own conversations. Out of the blue.

MILO: "I go to the library one day. And I saw a boy reading and I don't know what he was reading."

MERRITT: "You don't know what he was reading?"

    MILO: "No."

MERRITT: "And was the boy older than you or about the same age?"

MILO: "The boy was a little older from me."

Milo also likes to be a contrarian.

    FRED: "Mommy is beautiful."

MILO: "No, Mommy is not beautiful."

    FRED: "I love you, Milo!"

MILO: "I don't love you, Daddy... I love your hair."
