We are making headway on the sleep training! The more sleep he gets the happier he is. Merritt and I are very relieved to be noticing some significant progress.

Milo is very physical and very strong.

It was two steps forward and one step back with the sleep training. So we brought in the 'big guns', a consultant who helps with baby sleep training and nutrition. She was great - exactly what we needed. She put it all together for us and gave us a plan to follow and how to follow it. We are doing much, much better now.

Milo had his first taste of people food the other day and couldn't get enough. He loves to eat. We've been interviewing babysitters and they all mention how strong Milo is.

Merritt often gets stopped on the sidewalk with people telling her how cute Milo is. But I don't.

After much hesitation, consternation, sleepless nights and stress, we decided to put Milo to bed at night without rocking him to sleep and not go in to console him throughout the night (until after 3am at least).

The first night was rough. The second night was slightly less rough. The third night he fell asleep without crying at all. And by the fifth night he was both falling asleep by himself without crying and staying asleep for most of the night.

He likes to lie on his side but sometimes he rolls all the way onto his stomach and gets stuck which wakes him up and gets him pretty upset.

But overall, we're pretty pleased with the progress and feel like we're on the right track.
